Our Story
Amarone della Valpolicella is the wine of North east Italy. Made in Valpolicella there are three areas, each with their own style of the wine; Valpantena, Classico and Est, the extended area. Valpantena, lighter and fruiter Classico is generally the aromatic, elegant version. and the Est area richer and higher alcohol level.
We like to think of our Edinburgh restaurant as the classico. Marble walls, columns and floors. A spectacular duomo of which Brunelleschi would approve. You can feel the building’s financial heritage as you look out of arched windows onto St Andrew Square and the world going by.
At the start of George Street, we’re a great pit stop for shopping trips. Drop in for a light insalata or crisp based pizza or enjoy a glass of Amarone with something from the grill.
Close to so many of Edinburgh’s great attractions. Edinburgh castle, princes Street and gardens, National portrait Gallery and the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and all a short walk.
Or in the evening, we are close to the Edinburgh Playhouse, making Amarone restaurant a great start to an evening.
